Xena was found on an abandon ship alone, at the age of two. The captain of the ship that found her, Ruby Sage, adopted the orphan and took her in as her own. Xena was brought up with discipline and high expectations. She was brought up by a high-ranking officer to be an officer. She received little or no love from her mother and was taught that emotions made one weak. This was not an easy lesson to learn as a half betaziod child.
Xena was taught to best self-defense and martial arts skills money could buy. She was brought up as a student rather then a daughter. The only love she receives was from her Uncle, Aunt and cousin. Her cousin, Selenay became her best friend. She didn't make many friends in school but she did seem to find a good friend, Tara Logan. Xena grew up in San Francisco and her cousin lived in San Diego.
Xena kept to herself most of her life. She didn't talk unless spoken to. She also had mysterious things about her that kept people away. Though she was very beautiful, boys stayed away from her and Xena made no effort to chase.
After a time on the Phoenix, Xena got to know the Marine chief on the Phoenix. She drank with him and talked with him and they became good friends. As time went on, CR, her best friend, turned out to be her long lost father. Slowly, Xena finds a meaning to her life.
